  46. With this innovative and powerful new accelerator 
  47. a new dimension of performance is brought to the 
  48. Big Box Amiga, with performance increases of 
  49. multiple times beyond the performance of the 
  50. fastest 68k based accelerators available today, for 
  51. a competative price that is perfectly targeted at the 
  52. power user.

  54. Primarily being designed as an upgrade board for 
  55. existing Amiga systems, the Cyberstorm PPC Board 
  56. incorporates phase 5's innovative dual-processor 
  57. technology, where a fast PowerPC RISC processor 
  58. is combined with a 68k processor. In the case of 
  59. the Cyberstorm PPC Board, a choice of 68040-25 
  60. or 68060-50 CPU. The CPUs dynamically share the 
  61. memory and system busses, which is necessary for 
  62. a true multiprocessor behaviour. While the original 
  63. AmigaOS 3.x continues to run on the 68K CPU (as 
  64. well as all existing applications) providing 100% 
  65. compatibility - the PowerPC 604e CPU is supported 
  66. by a comprehensive PPC Library developed by 
  67. phase 5, which provides all functionality to integrate 
  68. the PowerPC into the Amiga multitasking 
  69. environment. Software developers can easily 
  70. optimise their programs step by step by porting 
  71. single tasks to PowerPC code, which then can run 
  72. parallel with 68k tasks. Many important Amiga 
  73. software vendors are preparing ported or optimised 
  74. versions of their software packages already, so it is 
  75. expected that a large quantity of software products 
  76. supporting the PowerPC will be available soon.

  78. This Cyberstorm PPC Board is available with the 
  79. fast PowerPC604e processor at a clock speed of 
  80. 233MHz. Also on the board is a 68060 processor at 
  81. a clock speed of 50mhz. Also provided is a fast 
  82. memory expansion option which uses standard 
  83. PS/2 type SIMMs. The memory is dynamically 
  84. shared by the two CPUs on the Cyberstorm PPC 
  85. Board. A fast Ultra Wide SCSI-II interface is 
  86. available on the PPC Board allowing you to 
  87. connect upto seven SCSI devices and enjoy 
  88. transfer rates of upto 40 megabytes per second.

  90. A maximum of 128 megabytes of memory can be 
  91. fitted to the four SIMM sockets. Memory SIMMS 
  92. can only be added to the Cyberstorm PPC board in 
  93. pairs (Two at a time) as the bus is 64bits wide.

  95. With it's fast 604e processor the Cyberstorm PPC 
  96. Board provides blistering performance that can 
  97. compete with most of the fastest PC systems 
  98. available today. With this performance the 
  99. Cyberstorm PPC Board is ready for the most 
  100. demanding applications such as 3D rendering and 
  101. high-speed 3D gameplaying, image manipulation, 
  102. animation, video applications, and many other 
  103. demanding applications that depend on fast CPU 
  104. performance.

  106. A standard Amiga A1200 runs at a speed of around 
  107. 1 million instructions per second. The 68060 in the 
  108. PPC Board is capable of close to 40 MIPS, while 
  109. the 233mhz 604e processor is running at over 350 
  110. MIPS.
